Rock The Casbah!

Rock The Casbah
A free-thinking Internet + access by the globalized masses has become a catalyst. This catalyst is creating a new Political and Economic equilibria. This equilibrium is quickly shedding light on the insurmountable global corruption within Regimes. It is shedding light on the economic & political inequality that has created unwanted discomfort to the masses; for Time Immemorial.
All oppression is created on specific ideological foundations utilized to brainwash the masses into submission. These Ideologies & Religions are in-fact an economic rouse to ensure the comfort of the Power Elite in Society. It is the fix-all solution to stabilizing large, sophisticated societies. I’m sure if you think hard enough, you’ll find an example within your own Society. It is solidified by oppressive government bureaucracies; ensuring a siphoning of economic power (and political power) to the Upper Echelons. All this rambling leads to the Rock the Casbah insight of The Clash! Ideas & Inspiration are Mental Viruses. It propagates & multiplies; creating perceived instability to the elite. The need to suppress egalitarianism is inherent to Human Society. This instability, formed through the awakening to the inequalities of the time, can only be quelled by the acceptance of Intellectual Freedom! Intellectual Freedom will ensure that a healthy balance is created via the impending Political & Economic Freedoms.
A great insight to this concept stems from the bloody conflicts of Western Europe in the 17th Century. The 1600’s saw unbelievable sectarian violence in coordination & correlation to stresses within the Mercantile System. So much conflict begat the Age of Enlightenment. Thomas Paine & John Locke utilized Natural Law to gain intellectual traction within societal elites. It created the understanding that perceived elite were actually suppressed by a greater elite. The spectacular result was Revolution! The United States of America was founded on the intellectual framework of the Federalist Papers. These Federalist Papers harken to Enlightenment philosophical understandings. Soon after, greater freedoms were realized; with further centuries of revolution & counter revolution. The result is greater and greater access to economics & political empowerment.
Sectarian Violence plagues the Middle East at this period of time. I firmly believe it was created through the pressures and stressors created via WWII & the Cold War. Fascism was suppressed through the blood of many. Soon after the conflict became centered around Authoritarianism vs Egalitarianism. Command Economy vs Capitalist Economy. What am I getting at? The Middle East were pawns of World War II. Newly found political clout was exacted by the Allies to destroy the Axis Powers. Of this, economic power began to be exacted. Energy wealth from Oil became an avenue to solidify the social controls of the elite within the newfound power of [newly created] regimes. Shiite & Sunni carved out political territory regardless of contrived political sovereign borders. Regimes bolstered their respective Sects in order to ensure social control and stabilities.
That being said, the Middle East population is enormously young and energetic. It is also devoid of economic

opportunity through gainful employment. The internet opened the masses to be awakened to their plight. They could see the rest of the World and see that their malaise is caused by their Regimes. Arab Spring! Biggity Bam! Inequality & Insurrection. This is the order of the day! Regimes around the world are scrambling to destroy information & communication networks of the masses. Populations are tired of economic & political inequality. Sectarian violence serves as a tool of the regimes to strike fear into the masses in ensuring that the power elite can control them in one way or the other. In the end the money continues to flow to a very small elite in their respective societies.

There is only one way out of revolutionary discontent. It has been hard fought and learned by Western Europe in the Religious Wars of the 17th Century. This begat the age of Enlightenment of the 18th Century, which was further enabled to cast off the chains of political suppression. Secularism & the Free Exchange of Information is the only possiblity of long term stability within the new Globalized, Technologically advanced World! Secularism & the free exchange of information will also create an Equilibria that will eventually collapse many levels of economic inequality. Even in the United States with its enormous income inequality, the population is slowly awakening from their malaise.Rock the Casbah!Embrace Secularism and contribute to the Global Exchange of Information!

The song gives a fabulist account of a ban on rock music by the Sharif or King being defied by the population, who proceed to “rock the casbah.” The King orders jet fighters to bomb any people in violation of the ban. The pilots ignored the orders, and instead play rock music on their cockpit radios.
The song’s lyrics feature various Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, and Sanskrit loan-words, such as sharifbedouinsheikhkosherrāgamuezzinminaret, and casbah.[5]
According to the album notes in the box set The Clash on Broadway, “Rock the Casbah” originated when the band’s manager Bernie Rhodes, after hearing them record an inordinately long track for the album, asked them facetiously “does everything have to be as long as this rāga?” (referring to the Indian musical style known for its length and complexity). Joe Strummer later wrote the opening lines to the song: “The King told the boogie-men ‘you have to let that rāga drop.'” The rest of the lyrics soon followed.[6][7]
